La description

Lilihan is a historic village in Markazi Province, Iran, once home to a skilled Armenian weaving community that greatly contributed to Persian textile craftsmanship. Known for its rug-making heritage, Lilihan produced distinct rugs celebrated for their single-wefted Hamadan weave, making them durable yet soft. These rugs share similarities with Sarouk rugs, featuring floral motifs and rich colors, but are uniquely identified by their signature pink weft. Traditionally woven with high-quality wool, Lilihan rugs blend geometric and floral patterns, creating a visually striking design. Their longer pile and vibrant hues made them particularly popular in the American market, especially during the Victorian era, cementing their status as prized Persian masterpieces.

Lilihan rugs often feature curvilinear lattice designs and Persian floral motifs, but some incorporate geometric elements as well. The primary color palette includes earthy tones such as brown, blue, ivory, and green, with refined accents of gold complementing the overall design. The Herati, Boteh, and Gul Hannai patterns are commonly found in Lilihan rugs, adding to their distinct aesthetic. Their cotton foundation and thick wool pile ensure longevity, making them highly sought after for both traditional and modern interiors.
